Focus On : A Postcard From New York Event at Miss Bush Bridal {Part 3}

Earlier this week we showed you our inspiration for the Fifth Avenue styling at the Miss Bush Bridal, Postcard From New York event. Today, it’s all about Tribeca.

As a big fan of New York, having been lucky enough to visit it on numerous occasions, I knew that it would be impossible to hold an event without showcasing the diversity the city has to offer so I started to think about an area which was a direct contrast to the upmarket and elegant blocks around Fifth Avenue.

Tribeca
When I go to New York, I stay at The Greenwich in the heart of Tribeca and I knew this area would be a great focus for our second room in the boutique. It is bold yet understated, fashionable yet not mainstream, edgy and experimental – offering lots of flexibility to be creative and push the boundaries.

The styling for Tribeca needed to pack more punch so a colour scheme of bright yellow, dark grey and black seemed totally appropriate, along with a more modern and contemporary aesthetic.

Again, official photos from super snapper Juliet McKee will follow soon, showing the Tribeca styling in all it’s fine detail, so keep checking back for updates!

Mid-week Musings: Ideas. Inspiration. Interesting Finds.

So, after a hectic few weeks when we were immersed in all things New York, Friday saw the hugely anticipated Postcard from New York event take place at Miss Bush Bridal. It was a great event (if we do say so ourselves!) which included a styled shoot, a fashion show, and loads of styling inspiration. In case you missed it, take a look at what Rock My Wedding had to say about the event on their latest blog post.

However, despite juggling this and some beautiful client weddings, we’ve still had chance to find our weekly fix of ideas, inspiration and interesting finds to help couples looking for some wedding day style and design ideas.

Brides are getting even more creative when it comes to asking their friends / siblings to be their bridesmaids. We’ve seen bridesmaid cards, jewellery and small gifts exchanged when it comes to asking the question, but we love this novel ‘Be My Maid’ box. Complete with details on the wedding, the other girls in the bridal party, their roles – and most importantly their outfits – this box is a great little keepsake for your future bridesmaids and you can have lots of fun making it in the process.

Using flowers to accessorise your hair on your wedding day has been popular for years, however we are starting to see hairstyles becoming more and more influenced by what is seen on the catwalks. This beautiful up-do, interspersed with a range of different types and colours of flowers, is a very fashion-forward look but is yet subtle and beautiful at the same time. We love it.

There is something about this colour scheme that makes us smile. It is rich, playful and also extremely eye-catching and we love the use of the emerald glasses to really finish off the tablescape. The black and white stripes remind us of humbug sweets and contrast beautifully with the bold emerald hues throughout…beautiful!

So, what do you think? How will you be asking your maid’s to join you on your special day? Are you planning on mixing pattern and colour to create a captivating tablescape? Or perhaps you’re planning on adding a bit of floral flair to your hair on your big day…drop us a comment in the box below…we’d love to hear from you!

Focus On: Miss Bush Bridal

Start spreading the News…A New York Postcard

Things have been a bit hectic in recent weeks here at Just Bespoke as we have been busy preparing for a VIP. Whatever way you take that it will be true…the Very Important Party is a New York cocktail party and fashion show, and the Very Important Person is a certain Emma Meek of Miss Bush Bridal.

Yes, the Miss Bush has asked us to be the exclusive event planners for ‘A New York Postcard’ – an invite-only affair at the Surrey boutique to welcome JLM Couture to the store in advance of the Trunk Show taking place on Saturday 24th – Sunday 25th March.

If you’ve never heard of Miss Bush, or stepped foot in the boutique which is home to a wonderland of dresses from prestigious labels including Suzanne Neville, Maggie Sottero, Jenny Packham, Rosa Clara, Jesus Peiro, Cymbeline, Jim Hjelm and Ugo Zaldi, then I urge you to discover more today – or failing that, get in touch to book a place at the Trunk Show.

Miss Bush Bridal Wear is Surrey’s leading designer bridal boutique having been established since 1988, and the lady behind the boutique, Emma, is a leading name in the UK wedding industry. She has a little black book bursting with contacts, a penchant for fashion like no other, and she is extremely well respected by all – so expect BIG things…

A New York Postcard
If you are one of the lucky few to have been invited to attend A New York Postcard on Friday 23rd March, then you are in for a real treat as there is a true dream team working behind the scenes to ensure that all of the guests, from brides-to-be and bridesmaids, through to media and bloggers, enjoy a night full of fashion and flowers, ideas and inspiration, and cocktails and canapés. So if you are looking to find your perfect dress or simply want some inspiration for your wedding day then Miss Bush Bridal will be showcasing it especially for you.

While I don’t want to give too much of the game away, I’ve attached the invitation below, and if you are a future bride and you want to come along to see some of the new designs for yourself, then feel free to get in touch to reserve your place. We look forward to seeing you there!

And don’t forget to pop back here in a few weeks to see some pictures following the event from the talented Juliet McKee, as well as a full run-down on the rest of the team that were involved in bringing the event together.
