Real Wedding: Ben & Neelam

A floral fancy in the heart of Cambridge

1

The time has come for us to share one of our most favourite weddings with you all…a beautiful flower-filled festivity.

1

Back in January we were contacted by the lovely Neelam and Ben to help them organise their wedding day. And in a first for us here at Just Bespoke, we had just three weeks to turn it around…nothing like a challenge!

1

Like most of the couples that we work with, Ben and Neelam lead extremely busy lives split between London and New York, and while they had some ideas for what they wanted, they needed us onboard to source suppliers, obtain quotes, and turn their ideas into a reality, so we had to ensure that we were on top of everything and updating them regularly along the way – all in a day’s work!

The chosen venue was Pembroke College in Cambridge – a place close to the couples’ hearts as they both spent time studying there during their university days. They were lucky enough to be allowed to marry in the stunning Pembroke Chapel in the grounds and chose the Old Library to host their reception. Both venues are full of character and provided the perfect backdrop to the English Afternoon Tea Party feel that Ben and Neelam wanted to create.

It is fair to say that flowers played a huge role in the wedding and they were absolutely stunning. The talented Chantal and her team at Chantal Flores Design worked tirelessly for two days creating breathtaking Jeff Leatham inspired displays which filled the Chapel, complemented by lighting from Wise Productions.

In the Old Library, the flowers were again the focal point with numerous large displays painstakingly wired, displayed and lit to totally transform the room. I don’t think I have ever seen such works of art or heard so many compliments about the flowers – they absolutely made the day.

For the wedding reception, the couple chose to provide their guests with afternoon tea as opposed to a traditional sit-down dinner. From mini soups, finger sandwiches and vegetable cornets, through to scones and jam, mini desserts and petits fours, the team at Pembroke didn’t disappoint with their culinary skills.

To end the reception, Ben and Neelam cut their beautiful 3-tier Peggy Porschen Blossom Applique cake and were then whisked away in their Bentley into London to enjoy a spot of dinner and dancing with friends before heading off on their honeymoon.

A stunning and classic wedding…we love.
