Amidst the brights, beautiful bridal whites

1

Last week, we were lucky enough to attend the Matthew Williamson Bridal Trunk Show at their gorgeous Bruton Street boutique in London’s Mayfair.

As we entered the store we were offered gorgeous Luscombe drinks and Peggy Porschen Cakes and some beautiful eye candy in the form of flowers by Wild About, not to mention the gorgeous Matthew Williamson signature colourful gowns which were on show throughout the boutique.

1

We all eagerly awaited the fashion show and it’s safe to say, the first bridal collection from the King of Colour does not disappoint. The dresses were simply gorgeous and provide a refreshing alternative for brides who want something contemporary and stylish with a combination of short and long dresses, feather and beading detail and silk and chiffon flowing fabric.

Juliet from Sugar & Spice Photography was on hand to capture photography from the event and loads more images can be viewed on her blog here.

Thank you to Nubia and Fong at Matthew Williamson for the invitation – we hope to be bringing some Just Bespoke brides to see you soon!

Style: In love with Haute Couture

Au revoir Paris…Hello New York

1

As everyone ‘fashion’ deserts Paris this evening once Miu Miu close the doors on Paris Fashion Week, people in the wedding world will be turning their attention to Bridal Week which kicks off in New York on 16th October. Those lucky enough to get tickets will get to see the great and the good showcasing their collections for the year ahead…and we’re so jealous that we won’t be there!

1

However, over the last month we have been keeping an eye on the the catwalks of New York, London, Milan and Paris as the haute couture design houses parade their latest ready-to-wear collections – many previewing their bridal collections for the first time and giving us a taste of what we can expect in the way of trends and styles for next year.

1

1

From Dolce and Gabbana through to Victoria Beckham, they all gave us their take on the conventional wedding dress, with styles focusing on the beauty of the silhouette, showing it off with soft and floaty fabrics as well as bold, structured designs.

1

Personally I love love love Ritva Westenius and the queen of bridalwear, Vera Wang, but the beautiful whimsical feel of the Marchesa gown and the timeless elegance of the 1940′s-inspired dress by french designer Cymbelline, have also got me very excited.

1

I can’t wait to see what’s instore for Bridal Week 2010, so be sure to check back here for all the latest news from New York in a couple of weeks time.
