Transforming the discarded into the desirable
I’m always on the lookout for unique, interesting and stylish finds to suggest to brides…from a new dress designer to an unexplored venue – i’m forever searching to give brides something different for their wedding day. So when I stumbled upon Laura Anne Marsden and her innovative jewellery designs, I just had to share them!
Laura is a graduate of the Chelsea College of Art and during her MA she created a technique which uses waste plastic bags and turns them into totally unique pieces of jewellery and interiors. The technique, which is called Eternal Lace, uses a combination of hand-stitching and needle lace-making with various heat processes to change the properties and appearance of the plastic bags.
Every design is totally bespoke and made entirely by hand so you will always have a one-off piece.
The necklaces and cuffs would be great for any bride looking to make a real statement on her wedding day, teamed with a stylish but simple dress, this would be a fantastic look. And the bracelets and brooches make great accessories or presents for the bridesmaids…take a look and see what you think!
