Mid-week Musings: Ideas. Inspiration. Interesting Finds.

Weekly wedding inspiration from around the web

Firstly, apologies that this week’s Mid-Week Musings is coming to you a day later than usual. The week has gone slightly crazy and we are currently in full planning mode for a number of upcoming events. The first, a fabulous New York Cocktail Party and Fashion Show at Miss Bush Bridal in Ripley, Surrey which we are extremely excited about! More details to come on this next week, but with a cast-list of the wedding industry’s finest involved, you can be sure it is going to be a really amazing event!

This week we’ve been loving everything neon…maybe it is the bright lights of New York calling us as we do our research for the Miss Bush event, or perhaps it is because over the last seven days we have experienced the first real rays of sunshine, lighter evenings and the general feeling that spring is in the air…whatever it is, neon has been firmly on our mind. So, this week’s mid-week musings focus on the fluoro.

1. Neckline Neon | Making a statement
On my wedding day I didn’t really know what jewellery I wanted to wear – other than wanting a big statement necklace which would contrast totally with my simple (but beautiful) fishtail dress. As it was though, I couldn’t find anything that fitted the bill (which is probably a good thing really as my husband bought me a gorgeous necklace as a wedding gift). However if I had come across this beauty then I know, hands-down, I would have bought it…Yes, neon yellow wouldn’t have gone with my colour scheme but it would have been a great piece to wear for the evening reception if nothing else. So I would encourage all brides to embrace the neon and make it work for you…if you like it that is!

2. Blooming Neons | Floral Fluoros
For a fun and individual couple looking to create stunning centrepieces, neon flowers are a great idea. Of course, this colour scheme will not work for everyone but with a fairly neutral primary colour palette – a white, black or grey for example – a few neon florals would make a really eye-catching and interesting feature at a wedding.

3. Bright Lights | Dazzling Decor
I am a big believer in working with a venue’s existing features to create really stand-out styling ideas for Just Bespoke clients. So, when I stumbled across this image it made me want to plan a wedding at this venue straight away. The neon green chandelier creates such an impression that only very simple styling is required. I would suggest teaming the green with accent colours of black and gold to make the fluoro really pop!

Of course, neon in any form is a bold and unconventional choice for a wedding, but done in the right way it can really work and create an eye-catching and unusual effect. As with anything of this nature, less is most definitely more and a few hints of neon in your wedding day styling can be both tasteful and impactful.

What do you think? Are you considering a splash of neon for your own wedding day, and if so, how are you incorporating these vibrant hues? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
