What a week for weddings!
In what is set to be the wedding of 2011, this week Kate Middleton and Prince William announced their engagement to the media and I don’t think i’m alone in saying that it got me feeling very excited!
Not only has it lifted the mood of the British public as we all celebrate a happy headline in the papers and on the news for a change, it also means great news for the wedding industry in what will certainly provoke a renewed interest in all things ‘wedding’.
Within minutes of the official announcement, industry experts, fashion editors and social commentators were all speculating on the minutiae detail of the wedding from the venue, to the cake and of course, Kate’s dress….and while everyone has their own views on what the big day will look like, one thing’s for sure, it will be a truly British affair, championing some of the nation’s finest – and we can’t wait!
The Best of British, regal touches and sapphire blue hues will certainly be trending in the world of weddings for the next 12 months…so look out for our design board next week when we’ll be giving our own take on the royal wedding to show you how you can have a Wills and Kate inspired wedding day.
